Karim Benzema is a French born football player who plays for Real Madrid and the football team of France. He mainly plays as a striker. He is known for his powerful style of play and huge goal scoring capacity. The city of Lyon is the birth place of Benzema. He got attached with Olympique Lyonnais in 1996 and progressed through the Club’s youth academy. Benzema’s debut started in the 2004-05 season and appeared periodically from the side.
Benzema became a starter in the 2007-08 season which was a successful year for him and he scored over 30 goals in this season. He helped Real Madrid to win Copa del Rey in the 2011-12 season by scoring 32 goals. He was nominated twice for the French Player of the Year due to his performance in the 2011-12 season.
