Manchester United Boss Louis Van Gaal Wants to Finish in Top Three

Louis Van Gaal considers realistic approach for Manchester United is to be included in top three at points table for Premier League. United is struggling so far because its most of players are injured including Phil Jones whose participation in England’s Euro 2016 qualifiers is in doubt. Yet Van Gaal does not feel problems with investors’ expectation laid out to them by executive vice chairman Ed Woodward this week. He said: “I think it is not an unreasonable target. A club puts targets. I also put targets. It is top three because Manchester United wants to play Champions League.”

United will be looking for Sunday’s Old Trafford clash with Queens Park Rangers as first win of the season. Summer signings Marcos Rojo, Luke Shaw, Daley Blind and Radamel Falcao and Angel di Maria could make debuts. However nine players are not available for this weekend’s game. The United manager knows they have spent over £150m to climb the table and to improve the results. He said: “We did well in the transfer period. Players are joining Manchester United; despite we are not playing in the Champions League. It is a big advantage. But we will also have to show the results.”
