Arsene Wenger says the day when transfer window closes is like a poker game as he wants to add more players to the Arsenal squad before the close of the window on Monday. According to Arsenal manager many Premier League clubs bluff near the final days of window. He said: “I will be actively involved till the last day of the transfer window. There are many clubs in the market and everybody is known by each other. The last few days are like a poker game. ” Wenger purchased Germany midfielder Mesut Ozil for £42.5m this year and says they are always ready to buy the right player.
But he added: “Many lies are told in the few days, everybody shows interest in the same player even if you are the only one who has interest in the player.” Wenger, whose team will play Leicester City on Sunday, has man strikers to cover for Olivier Giroud who was injured in a game. Wenger said: “I have unbelievable number of strikers at the moment. The purchase of a player does not make a season successful. The success comes when you think it reinforces your squad. We have shown it by spending money in the last two seasons.”
